Ohhhh... So sorry to hear it. Actually, do you like the job? Could be a blessing in disguise.

I was retrenched twice last year… At least it's a good time of year for you.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one with job 'concerns.' (not job 'worries' right?)

Good luck on finding something 5 times better! Or, use this opportunity to take a little holiday!

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately it's quite common in some industries/professions and it's hardly an indication on the individual's performance. I was in a similar situation with many others and we lived with that daily threat for 6 months. When it finally happened, it was a relief and it opened up many opportunities for me.

You never know, this might give you a chance to pursue other avenues. There is good that can come out of it.

You were wasted there anyway....Maybe you'll land yourself a job where you can use your drawing skillz..?

More importantly - New job, new tie?

Hey! Thanks everyone for your supportive comments! ... And don't feel bad for laughing - even I was laughing about it. In the end, unlike follies of the heart, it's just a job. Although it sucks, it'll be MUCH easier for me to find a new job than a new girl, haha.

Natalie: I *did* like the job. But recently my role has changed, and especially now that this has come to light, I'm viewing the job with a lot less enthusiasm than before. Im with you - I'm certain it's a blessing in disguise.

Eep, sorry to hear about your retrenchment. Look how good you're doing now, though! :)

Gav: Hahaha. It'd be fun as long as you weren't pitched next to a bunch of rednecks who scream at their kids all day long. "Waaayyyne! Git orf the cat! I'll give youse to the count of fwee! One... Two... ROIGHT! YOUSE GUNNA GET A SMACK!"

So you're on the job hunt too? Yeah it sucks but it's unavoidable I guess. Let me know if you see anything I'd be good for. :) haha

Kirstin: Nice idea. ;) I actually have some money saved up, but I'll need it for living if I can't get another job, haha.

However! If I do manage to score another job, then yes, there's likely to be a holiday on the cards! ;)

ChickyBabe: Thanks, babe. :) I'm looking forward to the new opportunities with open arms! :D

M: *smiles* cheers, M. :)

Jayne: Hahaha. I actually have been speaking to a couple of my friends at animation firms, so who knows? :D

Hehehehe. Maybe I'll start drawing the kinds of ties I *actually* wear, haha. As I've mentioned before - I only own one red tie and I never wear it in public. :P

UltraToast: Nope, laugh away! Haha. I was laughing after it happened! ... A melancholic laugh, but laughing nonetheless. :)

Luanne: Thank you! :) Now all I gotta do is find the rainbow. ;)

~d: I wish I was, haha. My life is much more interesting than any story I could create. As others have mentioned though, I'm looking at this as a positive opportunity, so I'm not too cut up about it. ;)

JackT: Cheers dude. I hope so too! :)

Lexi: Thank you very much. :D

Maddy: Hahaha-arooni. :) Hehehe. Thanks. ;)

Been there, done that. It truly sucks.
I hope you find something else soon.

I think they've done you a favour as well. The important thing is to utilise that month of employment wisely. Employers appreciate someone who is already working, as opposed to someone who has slipped out of the workforce. You have transferable skills that will easily be accepted into a higher paid position.

Hang in there

Steph: Thanks :-)

HoneySmack: Thankyou, that's sound advice. :-)
